Jo-Anna Pippen is a native of Chicago who migrated to sunny California during a particularly nasty Chicago winter. She studied art at UC Berkeley with an emphasis in painting. Over the years she expanded her interests to included photography and digital printmaking. Those mediums were her main focus for the past decade as she participated in exhibits around the San Francisco Bay Area. Recently, the painting muse tapped her on the shoulder encouraging her to dust off the paintbrushes and revisit her old love. She is enjoying working in both acrylics and oils and is experimenting with new techniques using metallic paints. She currently lives in Albany, CA with her husband of 42 years and 3 rescue cats.
