Georgia Bassen works and exhibits in many genres: painting, photography, sculpture, and jewelry. While teaching (philosophy) at Cal State East Bay she worked through their entire studio arts program, going on to get an MFA in sculpture from San Francisco State in 1991. Since then she has worked large: designing and building sets for the Cal State Opera Workshop; small: making jewelry in precious metal clay with Hadar Jacobson; and digitally. Presently she focuses on jewelry and digital art. "The interaction with the material working with metal clay balances nicely with working virtually, and both have the lure of endless possibilities to be explored."
