Christine Mulder was born and raised in the Bay Area, has been exhibiting watercolors, oils, and acrylics for the past several years and more recently has expanded her paintings to create wearable art in the form of jewelry. After earning degrees from UC Berkeley and San Francisco State, she studied locally with Dorcas Moulton and Carol Tarzier, and has taken workshops with Jane Hofstetter, Dick Cole, and Carole Maddox among others. She states "As an artist I'm drawn to texture and contrast: fiery oranges against cool blues, soft mist against craggy rocks, the splash of sunlight again deep shadows". She has exhibited work with the California Watercolor Assn., and more recently has won awards in the El Cerrito Art Assn. and Oakland Art Assn. shows. She is currently exhibiting acrylic paintings at Orinda Library’s Library gallery, in addition to her watercolors in Expressions’ current show "Autumn Colors” show. Additional work may be seen on her site.
